Brief
A short two day project to design and potentially build the entrance for the New Wortley Community Centre project.
Day 1 Design: Friday 20th March
10am: Brief introduction at New Wortley Community Centre, Leeds, meet the stakeholders and brainstorming.
Return to studio
1pm: Everyone works individually and produces one A3 design submission.
2pm Pin up of all 9 submissons. Each student has 2 minutes to present their project. Peer assesment for the best design concepts. You decide if a single design is taken forward or if several ideas can be amalgamated into one design. By agreement this will be developed by the team.
5pm: Sketch design of proposed entrance scheme completed. This will need costings, procurement methods, details etc.
Day 2 Design: Monday 13th April
Production of, for example, 1:10 model and working details, you decide. Time lag allows for provision of materials/booking of laser cutter etc in advance of this date.
Post portfolio submisson: The project is live so will keep going. It could become the centrepiece for CITYzen Agency's end of year show. The project is then constructed in 2016 subject to planning and client approval.
